A prestigious residential development located in the heart of the City of London, close to Barbican and St Paul’s Tube stations, Bart’s Square combines luxury with individuality, thanks to its elegant interior design. Working for the project’s main contractor and the client’s representative, Second London Wall Project Management Ltd, Chisholm & Winch was responsible for the fit out of 240 bathrooms at the project.
The Solution from Chisholm & Winch
The Chisholm & Winch team provided design development expertise to ensure that the bathrooms were robust and durable, while aiding buildability. The original plasterboard partitioning was revised to a sanitary wall, more suited to the weight and function of sanitaryware.
Responsible for installation of all sanitaryware, plumbing and tiling, we diverted services where necessary to ensure the bathroom dimensions comply with building regulations requirements.
The Chisholm & Winch team were meticulous about the choice of materials for the project and worked with the supply chain to agree quality assurance parameters for key aspects of the specification. This included visiting the Carrara marble supplier in Italy and agreeing a sample range with the client to ensure all marble finishes were completed without flaws or inclusions for a consistently high end aesthetic.
We also undertook this detailed approach to procurement of the Burlington Slate finishes for the project, agreeing a sample range with the supplier and the client and carrying out redesign work where required to ensure all details were robust and completed to a high standard.
In addition to extensive tiling and fit-out works, Chisholm & Winch also delivered a wide range of bespoke joinery for the project, providing a stylish and practical element to the bathrooms and en-suites.
